Passing on, a beginning
Though long
Are brief recollections
Of meetings
Over cups of tea
And sharing
More than anything
The closeness of two
One of all mothers
Every person alive
Nurturing all, humanity's call
In every word, every glance
Behind twinkling eyes
Bones crooked with pain
Of unfading loss, not gain
Deep scars too long
Husband and son
Still this is home
Every one belongs
But now saying goodbyes
A temple of black ties
Chants' drumming sound
Resonates in
Lonely moments found
Where body has gone and
Spirit flies on
Into every one left here
To carry on
