Light a candle in the night
And life begins to burn so bright
With hope of every living day
We’re here to share this miracle way

We watch the flame burn ever clear
Lighting all both far and near
It shines within as light of love
Outside as warmth, the sun above

The flame is bright to help us see
The truth of our reality
That everything is transient
Here and now is heaven sent

Life is there for us to share
To be alive and to be aware
Each moment is a gift of seeing
All experiences of life are in our being

However long a candle’s made
In time the flame begins to fade
Of light and life we’re truly blessed
A candle’s light brings happiness
