Mosquito in the basket

There's a mosquito in the basket
There's a typhoon in the mind
There are rocks crashing silently
Attention flying round

Every corner of this room
Seems alive with creatures, small
That torment waking moments
With a humming, pesky call

Playing hide and seek in spaces
Of a mind that likes to chase
Makes confusion ever present
Leaves this head a basket case

There's a mosquito in the basket
But its silence gives away
That ears hear and eyes see
Attention caught, mosquito play

Now mosquito is in hiding
And desire's grown weak
The conquer of a beast so small
Is a triumph hard to speak
