No freedom just

Podgy faces fill our screens
Disguised, those businessmen
Telling everyone their sordid lie
It’s beautiful, the life of greed
Politicians seek, they speak
Words that make a child believe
It’s best for them; no, it’s serious
They stroll into a meeting
To sell our interests
Down the drain, shock therapy
What’s left for us to eat?
But they get paid
On them it rains; diamonds fall
While subsidised farming
Keeps hungry working slaves
Dependent on free trade
All deals there bolted down
Do we want it that way?
No freedom just
Disaster, pain
Common people in chains
Economists, experts claim
With war mongering glares
Private armies standing, collusion
Precedes contract signing
Governments and multinationals
Banking behind smoke screens
Mistaken for clouds
While seeds; patented food
Control, cuff us all
And farmers stand in lines
Have walked away, generations
Gone from their land
The old few reaping gains
And empires grow
Keeping the majority down
In poverty, job loss
Spiralling
They steal gold
Seeping from the ground
Once ploughed by ancestors all
How do we find the strength
To lean forward
Into the wind and rain
And standing firm
It blows the thieves away
