How long do we sit and watch other people bleed?
How long do mothers face their children with nothing to feed them?
There’s only one way
for lawmakers to know it
Struggle each day,
grow food with their own hands
that sow it
Let politicians pick dry grain from dusty bowls,
sitting on the ground
Then pick up their rifles, carry their dead,
and throw them onto mounds
Live the life of a refugee,
no more lobbying voices
Then back to congress seats,
think again,
and make right choices
Sitting in front of screens
too many evenings
Witnessing crises
without any feelings
People stopped talking,
and watch infotainment
Hearts became numb with violence
as entertainment
A knock at their door can mean
it’s about to be smashed
By soldiers living a lie, terrified,
and brainwashed
Fear is epidemic,
there’s no talk of a cure
The news keeps telling us “It could happen to you”
I’m not going to listen
I’m not going to believe
The lies that made millions fall down
on their knees
I’ll stand up and tell people
to think for themselves
to stand up, take control of their lives
and be themselves
Make the choice
with all you consume
Make the choice
get rid of those lying few
Make the choice
talk to others in need
Make the choice
turn it off and read
How long do we sit and watch other people bleed?
How long do mothers face their children with nothing to feed them?
