No War Any More

Is there peace without a war?
Who can decide to have more, still more?
They tell us there's no other way.
Does safety need our loaded guns,
The trade that funds
Missiles from hell?
They break into living rooms
For fun, they take families down
One by one.
But who's to gain?
Not our blood-covered earth,
Not those who make metallic rain.

No war any more!

Who's in charge here
And who do they fight?
Old people, unarmed women,
A child.

No war any more!

We'll save you from humanity
They say.
Could they kill us all?
Alone I wander
Among red and green trees,
The killing fields dense,
All brought to their knees.
Yet thankful are we
For peace to sleep,
For peace to eat
And some peace to be.
Inside our hearts
We’re one, all together.
Outside our small lives
Do we care any more?
No woman, no man,
No child, no baby,
Can live in peace in a war.
